A frequent visitor at audiforum.nl spotted the new M3 e90 at Schiphol Airport!
The M3 e90, a "Mule" (on the outside a normal e90, on the inside a real M3), has been photographed while standing on a platform, ready to be transported (probably back to Germany).
The hood of this car is not the one that will be seen on the production M3 e90: it is made of plastic and held together with tape.
As the hood isn't the same as the normal e90, there has to be something bigger underneath it: the new 400hp V8, which needs some more space!
So it is not the 335i, as this engine has the same size as the 330i engine (which should fit just fine underneath the normal hood).
As you can see on the picture, the spotted M3 has 4 exhausts, which are placed near the center of the car, just like the e46 M3. The differential has special cooling-fins, something the M5 has as well.
Also the oversized brake-discs show how much power this M3 has to handle!
Something very remarkable is the number of doors this M3 has: 4! As there has never been a 4-door saloon version of the M3, it could mean two things: the M3 will become available as a 4-door saloon version - or the mule uses the saloon-body to carry the M3 "Mule", so to test the new M3 coupe.
As for the sticker, the car has probably been to the USA, to be tested on a salt plain, for some high speed action.
