I added/edited specifications, when will they be visible?
Once they have been approved, you can see the changes directly on this webpage.
Latest approval date: August 23rd 2014
Here is a list of the additions that have not been approved yet:
What’s new in the database?
The second version of the BMW Heaven Specifications Database has a couple of extra’s the first version didn’t have. For example: you can now switch from metric to imperial values (and vice versa), the system automatically converts value’s for you. Next to that a lot more information is stored in the database, for example: information about the chassis, suspension, gearbox and electrical system. For newly added cars, you can find this information in the database. And also, a lot of new cars and engines have been added to the database. If you want to contribute: please feel free to add specifications.
The website doesn’t seem to work as suspected, what can I do?
I can’t seem to change any of the settings, what’s the matter?
I’m having problems with the website, what do I do?
Please send an email to info [at] bmwheaven [dot] com specifying the problems you have and the system and browser you are using. I will contact you as soon as possible and try to fix the problem.
How do I add a car to the database?
Click the link "Add Specifications" in the navigation bar and add the car specifications you want. Just fill the fields that you know, and leave the rest empty. After you have added the specifications, these will first have to be authorized before showing up in the search results.
How do I add an engine to the database?
Click the link "Add Specifications" and scroll down to the engine field. There you can click the link "Add engine". Engine specifications will not show up in the search results until they are authorized. You can select unauthorized engines if you want to add a car to the database. To do this scroll down to the bottom of the engine list.
How do I add a picture to a car’s specification?
When adding specifications, please select the picture that represents the car. If the picture is not in the list, please send the picture by email to info [at] bmwheaven [dot] com. It is not (yet) possible to add your own pictures.
I’m missing some key functionalities, where do I report this?
Please send an email to info [at] bmwheaven [dot] com. State what information you are missing and where you want it to show up. If possible, I will try to add it a.s.a.p.
The website is very slow. Why is this and how can I make it go faster?
On slower computers the style of the website could be too much. Please use the buttons next to the logo (top-right) to turn off the background and transparancy.
Where the hell did you get all that car information?
The internet... Think BMW Group press-website, wikipedia, bmwslo.com, bmwinfo.com, bimmerforums.com, bmwworld.com, unixnerd bmw, bmwe30.net, etc etc etc. It has been a hell of a lot of work!
